GO MAINE Program Manager, 2002-2008

  • Grant writing & strategic planning: Principal author of successful grant application and strategic plan to develop and implement a new statewide TDM program: GO MAINE Commuter Connections.
  • Transportation demand management: Manage all aspects of Maine’s statewide TDM program that provides carpool ridematching, a vanpool program, commuter information, employer services, and public outreach and education.
  • Budget development & administration: Develop and implement an annual work plan and administer a $1.13 million bi-annual budget in coordination with principal funding agencies, the Maine Department of Transportation and the Maine Turnpike Authority, and produce regular statistical analyses and performance reports.
  • Marketing planning & outreach: Develop and direct the implementation of a marketing and outreach plan to deliver TDM services throughout Maine, and coordinate through partnerships with employers, transit operators, MPO’s, planning agencies, municipal and state officials, business groups and others.
  • Project & staff management: Direct and monitor the activities of program staff and consultants (marketing, communications, technical, others).
  • Event management: Coordinate the promotion of Commute Another Way Week, Maine’s annual employer-based multi-modal transportation event, and the largest event of its kind in New England.
  • Professional association service: Served with the Association of Commuter Transportation (ACT) Patriot Chapter as Officer at Large, acting as liaison for ACT members outside of Greater Boston area, and responsible for new member recruitment.

  • TDM management: Managed the Rideshare TDM program for York and Cumberland Counties, Maine’s most populous region, with responsibilities and duties similar in nature to the above-mentioned position.
  • Grant writing: Contributing author of successful Job Access and Reverse Commute grant application and plan.

  • GIS mapping & transportation planning: Provided technical and planning assistance on municipal and county GIS mapping projects and transportation planning projects and studies.
